thoughts on palin

Why must I defend how I feel about Palin?  The media is already doing its job of attacking her and trying to belittle her family and her beliefs to the American public.  If it weren't for the friends that I have, I would swear that my beliefs are in the minority.  The media along with public education has attempted its best to brainwash me, yet I still have the need to defend.

  • Palin is pro-life.  She is the kind of pro-life that makes the most sense to me.  Life is life regardless of the circumstances.  It's very hard to imagine the pain of rape and a resulting pregnancy, but if life begins at conception (as I believe) then it's a life regardless.  Because a pregnancy occurs from rape or incest, it doesn't magically change that definition of life.  The embryo doesn't magically become subhuman and deserves the right to life and the right to have a safe place in utero.  I know the argument of "but it's a woman's body and she should decide."  Actually the life inside of the woman isn't a part of the woman's body.  It is her responsibility to do everything she can to protect the child - a resident for a very short time.  My son has a different blood type than me.  He has a different genetic makeup.  He is not a part of me, but only came partially from me.  He's his own being.  It's a shame our society has taken the right of life from these little defenseless humans.
  • Palin is an Evangelical Christian.  It's about time.
  • Palin is a natural speaker and is very intelligent.
  • She is a woman.  Again, about time.

I agree with your pro-life stance, with the exception of incest. I'm not talking about cousins, but with father/daughter or sister/brother incest. If a father rapes his daughter and she conceives, I honestly can't see anything positive that would come from that child's birth, especially if the child is not placed up for adoption.
