I remember just a little over a year ago, metro schools let the kids out early because of the ice and snow that was falling all morning. I commuted 35 miles to work, at the time, but it was all interstate. I left work at noon with some iv medications for a patient of ours and arrived at his house (just down the road from my boyfriend's house) at 6:30pm. It took THAT long to get home. Eighteen wheelers were sliding backwards, cars were abandoned on the interstate, and people were running out of gas. It was a riot. I was SO bored. But, I made it. I had a front wheel drive, then. I couldn't make it now with my car. She's a beauty isn't she? But, she doesn't do well on snow of any kind. The last little bit of pseudo-snow that we had, I had to literally drive around 5 mph. It was fun watching the Cadillac Escalades and such whiz past me. Oh yeah, it's their glory day now... I whiz past them in the summer with my top down, summery breeze whipping through my hair and look at them. They look at me in their big chunky Escalades, smile, but I KNOW they'd rather have the convertible... oh but how the tables have turned!
I wish there was a way to get my car down to Cancun next month....
