my favorite baby show right now

I'm a TLC junkie.  From A Baby Story to Bringing Home Baby to Little People Big World to Jon and Kate Plus 8.   I have to say that Jon and Kate are my least favorite show.  I was intrigued early on at the prospect of a family having two sets of multiples, but now I usually shudder when I watch the show.  Most of the time I change the channel.  Kate, as a wife, is too negative for me.  It's almost like she belittles and degrades Jon at times and seems to constantly be in a bad mood.  I certainly wouldn't want to live my life in the mood she is in!

There is a blog about the show called Gosselins Without Pity that is rather insightful at times.  Notice there are never any grandparents visiting the brood?  This website goes on to discuss how Jon and Kate exploit their children with 40 something episodes this year alone, etc...

Honestly, I can't watch it only because of Kate's negativity.  I just don't understand how a reproductive endocrinologist can recommend proceeding with an injectable cycle with IUI with Kate obviously releasing more than one egg!  Irresponsible.

dogs and drugs

Apparently to sell their drug product, pharmaceutical companies have to develop a commercial that appeals to the general public. I've been noticing a general trend of commercials with dogs. Celebrex has the swimming dog made entirely of words (the longest commercial on the planet). Symbicort has the silhouette type commercial with a dog (horrible commercial; bad marketing). Vesicare also has a commercial made entirely of pipe people complete with a pipe dog.

Somehow dogs make us feel good, and the drug companies want us to feel free to ask our doctor about ________. (Fill in your favorite drug here).

At least we don't have antipsychotics, antianxiolytics, and antidepressants being filmed with pets. Somehow someone on these medications trying to balance their brain isn't thinking of dogs, but frequent urination, joint pain, or asthma does! Even if that beloved dog triggers your asthma!

baby borrowers

I'm appalled at "The Baby Borrowers" on NBC. It's not that they have found a few teen couples to try their hand at infants, toddlers, preteens, and teens. It's that they also have to try to take care of the elderly. I find that adding this category is degrading to a group of people that are forgotten in today's society. It's almost as if the elderly is considered "babies" and a burden on someone. It's not a bad idea to have teens learn this, but I hate that they are exploited on TV.
